Turn Your Dreams into Reality with Goal Setting

The Power of Dreams

We all have dreams that seem so far out of reach. They can feel like distant stars, shining brightly but always just beyond our grasp. But what if I told you that those dreams can become your reality? The secret lies in setting goals.

Facing Overwhelm: Breaking Down Dreams

Yes, dreams can feel overwhelming. You might not know where to start or how to get there. But here’s the thing: the way to reach any dream is through achievable goals, and those goals are reached by taking small, regular, and repetitive actions.

Daily Actions: The "Hot 15" Method

One of the most effective ways to achieve your goals is to set up sprints of 30 days, or even 7 or 14 days, and really hone in on one particular thing. Break it down into daily steps. By the end of your set time, you’ll have reached a goal that brings you one step closer to your dream.

Mel Robbins, a phenomenal coach and mentor, calls this daily action the “Hot 15.” It means dedicating at least 15 minutes of focused action each day towards your goal. It can be longer, but 15 minutes is the minimum. This concept has been transformative for me.

A Personal Journey: Mind Mapping and Determination

This method has been a game-changer for me. In fact, it’s how I finally got my website and social media set up after years of being in business. I was determined to make it happen, so I enrolled in a course called Launch, held by Mel Robbins once a year. Being part of the 2024 class has been life-changing.

Personally, I love using mind mapping to break things down and to start my planning. I also make sure that it is not too broad. It is way too easy to think of a huge number of things that need to be done – cue the overwhelm and anxiety, which then leads to freezing and nothing gets done. So keep it simple and achievable. You will have plenty of time to set another goal with a sprint timeline and achieve all of those other things. For now, make it easier on yourself and keep it SIMPLE.

The Importance of Knowing Your "Why"

Another key thing is to know your WHY – I will write about this in another post and will link to it here once I have it written up. I will say though, that this is something that I have struggled with for many years, but now I have my WHY! Your “why” will keep you motivated on the days when you can’t be bothered.

Conclusion: Turning Dreams into Reality

So here I am, sharing something I’ve learned and implemented: setting goals equals reaching and achieving your dreams. With determination and the right approach, dreams can indeed become your reality.

Start today. Pick a dream, set a goal, break it down, and take those daily steps. You’ll be amazed at what you can achieve.

To your dreams,
